The power of review is significant on the part of the customer leaving the review because it reinforces his or her belief in your company. By processing thought into words, the positive thought becomes embedded into the mind - solidifying brand loyalty and connection that your customer has over your company that turns him or her into an advocate of your company. More importantly, it becomes a social signal to other people that your company is worthy of their time. In a time where everything is online, it becomes imperative that your company should have positive reviews of your own.

Whereas before when a potential customer would do traditional research by asking for recommendations from friends, nowadays research is just a few clicks away. Needless to say, the first step to having a positive review is to provide positive service. Once you have that down pat, you are on your way to obtain your positive review.

Depending on your industry, you may need to list your website or company to industry-relevant rankings. For instance, Yelp is the site to go for restaurants and other local businesses. However, the surefire way of getting reviews is to ask your happiest customers, directly. If you don't ask them, then you'll never get one.

Just make sure that you ask with the right tome (nicely) at the right time (at their convenience) and when they are at their most satisfied, while making the process as easy as possible. Growing your business may be, affected by your ability to gain positive reviews. Akin to a compounding interest, more positive reviews for your company means increased perception of legitimacy and trust over time.
